Are you a commercially savvy Buyer with a passion for the latest in home technology and kitchen innovation?

 

Harris Scarfe is looking for a motivated Buyer – Electrical to join our energetic merchandise team in South Melbourne. In this pivotal role, you will take full ownership of the Electrical category, sourcing a compelling product range—from high-demand air fryers and coffee machines to personal care and floorcare—that meets our customers' expectations and drives retail success.

 

 

About the Role

We’re looking for a motivated and detail-focused Buyer to join our team.

 

 

How You’ll Help

  • Product & Range Development: Source and curate a market-leading range across kitchen appliances, personal care, and more.
  • Strategic Planning: Collaborate with Planners to create seasonal buying plans and monthly merchandise strategies aligned with weekly forecasts.
  • Supplier Management: Negotiate with domestic and overseas suppliers to secure the best value and exclusive products for our customers.
  • Compliance & Quality: Work closely with the Compliance Manager to ensure all products and marketing materials meet Australian QA/QC standards.

 

 

About You

  • Experience: Minimum 3 years in a retail buying environment, preferably with exposure to the electrical or homewares category.
  • Strategic Mindset: Demonstrated experience in direct sourcing and developing multi-million dollar product ranges.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in merchandise systems and the Microsoft Office suite.
  • Cultural Fit: A collaborator who thrives in a fast-paced environment and values team spirit.
