This is a fantastic opportunity to develop your skills in IBM TM1/Planning Analytics, support critical retail operations, and contribute fresh ideas in a hybrid role environment.

About the Role

As a Junior Analyst at Spotlight Retail Group, you will work closely with our experienced team to support, administer, and enhance our retail planning and reporting environment. This role is perfect for someone with a foundational understanding of IBM TM1 / Planning Analytics who is eager to learn, provide hands-on user support, and assist in maintaining stable, high-performing systems. You'll help ensure our planning models (covering sales, margin, inventory, and operations) are reliable, providing the data-driven insights our business relies on.

Key Responsibilities

You will be involved in the following critical activities:

  • Day-to-Day Support: Provide essential user and system support for our retail TM1 / Planning Analytics applications.
  • System Administration Assistance: Help manage routine system administration tasks, including user access maintenance, security updates, executing scheduled processes, and assisting with backups.
  • Monitoring & Integrity: Monitor application performance and data loads, ensuring data accuracy and reliability across our planning models.
  • Documentation: Assist in maintaining application-related processes and system documentation.
  • Data Integrity: Support the assurance of data integrity and the timely completion of Planning & Analytics system tasks.
  • Technical Assistance: Assist the senior team in translating smaller business needs into technical solutions, including contributing to requirements gathering and basic ETL processes.
  • Optimization Support: Help monitor and maintain application performance and assist with managing developments.
  • System Development Support: Participate in system upgrades, testing, and the expansion of current functionalities.
  • User Training & Interpretation: Assist end-users with basic inquiries, helping them understand and interpret key business information.
  • Troubleshooting: Troubleshoot and help resolve basic issues with TM1 data, processes, and rules.
  • Model Enhancement: Assist with basic model enhancements and simple development tasks.
  • Coordination: Coordinate with business users to understand basic issues, support requests, and minor enhancement needs.

Skills and Experience

This role is geared towards individuals with foundational knowledge and a strong desire to learn:

  • Foundational Knowledge: An understanding of the core TM1 components (Dimensions, Rules, TurboIntegrator, Security) and the overall suite is essential.
  • Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a high attention to detail and data accuracy.
  • System Exposure: Exposure to system administration concepts, including user management and scheduling.
  • Technical Familiarity (Preferred): Familiarity with SQL, Python, Excel, and general data integration concepts is a plus.
  • PAW/PAX Proficiency: Proficiency in developing basic End User templates in PAW & PAX, or transferable knowledge from Active Forms and TM1 Web.
  • Industry Exposure (Highly Regarded): Any exposure to retail planning, forecasting, or financial reporting is highly regarded.
  • Communication: Excellent communication and customer support skills.
  • Mindset: A strong desire to learn, an ability to assist with troubleshooting, and a focus on performance and continuous improvement.
  • Team Player: Ability to operate and be self-motivated within a collaborative team environment.
